After having fun with my scrapbook layout last week using the Hand-Penned Suite, I decided I would use some of the leftover Designer Series Paper and the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack to create a couple of simple cards. For the card above, I simply used the Blushing Bride cardstock, some of the designer paper and then for my sentiment, I layered the sticker “thinking of you” onto the pink label that was also on the sticker page from the Memories & More Card Pack. I added some retired Blushing Bride ribbon and a few pearls and my card was complete.

This next card was even simpler. I took one of the 4×6 cards from the Memories & More pack, cut it down and adhered it to the Highland Heather cardstock. I added the stitched ovals, along with a “hello” from the retired Honey Bee stamp set. The little bee is from the Bumblebee Trinkets in the new catalog. They are too cute! Same with the card next to it. Highland Heather cardstock, Whisper White cardstock and then one of the 3×4 cards from the same pack. This is one with simply an outline of the flowers which is meant to be colored in. I used my markers this time and added a Highland Heather ribbon, another retired item, to the bottom of the flowers. I really enjoyed pulling out the markers and doing a little bit of coloring! I stuck with the same color combos as are in the Designer Series Paper.

And, finally, these cards were just as simple. Now I moved on to the Mint Macaron color combo and used a few more of the stickers from the card pack. I did stamp the “just because” from the retired And Many More stamp set as my one sentiment. I also pulled out my Mint Macaron retired ribbon and added a few of the Genial Gems to both cards. The Genial Gems are in the new catalog and will definitely be a favorite of mine to keep on hand. One of the flowered papers was another 3×4 card from the same Memories & More Card Pack and another was a scrap from the Designer Series Paper, along with the beautiful striped Mint Macaron.
I’m sure many of you are like me and have a score of items that are “retired” but still fabulous, and I enjoy using them in my crafting as much as the “new” stuff. It’s even more fun when you can combine the new and the old. Keep stampin’ and scrappin’!
