June Week 2 Challenge – Pampered Pets

It’s time for the next challenge for this week with my sis-in-law, Susanne, who is a demo for that “other” stamp company. The stamp set she chose is on the right, and the only stamp set I could find in my stash that was even close is shown on the left, Pampered Pets. She and I have very different tastes, and I had absolutely nothing, retired or current, that had that Scandinavian look. Her stamp set had animals, so that’s what I went with.

In the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, Pampered Pets stamp set and dies had coordinating Playful Pets Designer Series Paper and Playful Pets Trinkets. I pulled them out and used them for my color scheme. I started with a card base of Real Red and added my DSP, cut at 5-1/4 x 4.

I added a strip of 5-1/4 x 1 Real Red cardstock, using the die shown above from the set to create my border of paws. I simply ran the die through and repositioned it on the strip several times. I then added a strip of Basic White cardstock to the back of the strip so my paws showed up better on the card.

Next came a heart I ran through my cutter using Basic Gray cardstock and attached to the card. I stamped my dog in Memento Tuxedo Black and used my Real Red marker to color in his collar. The “True Love has four paws” sentiment came from a different retired set, Nine Lives. I punched it out with another retired punch and adhered both my dog and the sentiment with Dimensionals.

I chose this sentiment for the inside message. I did the same template for the kitty card, but added a few 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to the kitty’s heart. I just felt like she needed a little bit of bling. Because this was a sympathy card, I didn’t color in the cat and dog and chose to leave them as-is.
