Well, this is the last week of the card challenge between myself and my sis-in-law, Susanne, that consultant for the “other” stamping company. Make sure to check out her blog to see what she created with her chosen stamp set. The Stampin’ Up! set I worked with is pictured on the left, Whiskey Business.

This is the first card I created. I used Gray Granite for the card base. I took a strip of Basic Black and added it to the back of the Basic White cardstock that was cut at 5 x 3-3/4. I used my Stamparatus to stamp a straight line in Smoky Slate ink across the card. I love the Stamparatus for keeping my lines fairly straight and stamping multiple sentiments.
Once again, I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and played with my watercolor pencils. I used my blending pen to smooth everything out and then added Wink of Stella to the whiskey. The photo muted a lot of the colors and you can’t see the glimmer, but you can get the idea. I fussy cut the images and used Dimensionals to adhere them to the card.
I still have plenty of the 6×6 Wood Textures paper pack from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and used that for the wood strip. Then it was just more Basic Black cardstock cut in a strip and I added the tail. My sentiment was stamped in Smoky Slate on Basic White. Stampin’ Up! has In Good Taste Designer Series Paper in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog which is very similar to my old retired Wood Textures. The new paper is 12×12, which is my preferred size, and it goes on sale with some other Designer Series Paper on July 1.

I’m really going to have to figure out why all of my coloring on my photo is off. I’m beginning to think when I add the Wink of Stella, the camera picks up the glimmer and therefore everything lightens. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I’m sure it has nothing to do with my photography skill!
But I digress! This was a simple card using Early Espresso for the card base and then more of the Wood Textures paper to the card. The other darker piece of Wood Textures paper was placed in my Sizzix and I took one of my larger circle dies, big enough to accommodate the large image, and simply cut out part of the circle. I added the twine and then adhered the wood paper to the card using Dimensionals, added my fussy cut images and stamped my sentiment on a scrap of the designer paper. I tied a few knots to finish it off.
I hope you enjoyed the card challenges and now I’m in trouble. Our July challenge is scrapbook pages. I usually just copy what my sis-in-law has done and go from there. Obviously that won’t work this time and I’ll have to try it on my own. Yuckkkkkkk! Check out Susanne’s YouTube channel and then mine and you’ll see how inadequate I am compared to her creations. Oh, well, time to pull up my big girl panties and go for it! Keep stampin’ and scrappin’!
