I was adding some cards I had made to one of my boxes and happened to see the category of “Baby” in my box. Well, my need for baby cards isn’t really something on my priority list right now, but the card in the box was for a boy. I couldn’t let the girls be unrepresented, so I took the same template and made one for the sugar and spice gals.

I started with a base of retired Pink Pirouette cardstock (trying to use up a lot of my retired stock). I used my 2-1/2″ circle punch and glued the circle on the Basic White cardstock which I had cut at 4 x 5-1/4. I then ran the piece through the retired Scallops Embossing Folder, leaving a bit of the bottom un-embossed. Sorry my photo doesn’t show the embossing very well. That’s what I get for taking photos late at night. I finished it off using the very old retired Sizzix Tasteful Trim and a cute little punched heart. I glued the whole piece to the card base. I like to use our liquid glue on anything that is embossed because I think it simply holds better.

Out came the stamp set, A Slice of Life, which was a hostess set in the 2011 Occasions Mini catalog. I stamped the baby jumper in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored it in using a Pink Pirouette marker. Fussy cutting was the next step, adhering it to the circle and adding a little rhinestone for my bit of bling.

Since this set is now 10 years old, my mission is to make several more simple cards using all of the images in the set. I’ll post a few photos when I have them done. Hopefully I can also use some of my ancient retired paper also. Wish me luck. Keep stampin’ and scrappin’!
