Well, it’s Week 2 of the scrapbook layout challenge between my sis-in-law, Susanne, and myself. As usual, I struggle with these layouts, but I decided I would add another dimension to the challenge. I felt like last week’s layout was a bit of a spring theme. So this week I decided to go with a bit of a summer theme and used the Sweet as a Peach stamp set and dies and the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper.

Above is my take on the challenge sketch. I started out with two sheets of Calypso Coral 12×12 cardstock and built my layout from there. I added the two peach strips at the bottom and then the four striped strips on both pages, using the 6×4 photo mats as my guide on the left-hand page. The other sheet of Designer Series Paper on the right-hand side was cut to 12×8.

Let’s start with the embellishment on the left side of my layouts. I used the Sweet as a Peach stamp set and dies and the Early Espresso and Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I stamped the peaches and flowers in Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral and then added the Early Espresso in the inside of the flowers and die cut them out. The Early Espresso letters were done on my Cricut and the larger letters came from my stash.

Now this was fun creating this page. I used the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper and, once again, using my Cricut, I cut out the banners. I wanted them all the exact same size, so the Cricut was perfect for this. I added my die-cut images, stamping in the same color inks as above. I took my paper piercer and the old retired Paper Piercing and Stitching template and poked my holes across. Next I used my Pear Pizzazz marker and added it to the paper piercing to mimic stitching. A few bows of retired Early Espresso ribbon were added. If you look at the large layout, you’ll see I stamped on the bottom of the right-hand side of the page for an additional sentiment, layered the squares, and then added another stamped image and cut with my die.

Hope you enjoyed my attempt at this layout. Wooo-hooooo, halfway through this month’s challenge. Make sure you check out Susanne’s challenge layout and keep scrappin’ and stampin’!
