Well, this last Friday and Saturday I attended a virtual Stampin’ Up! convention showcasing our new Mini and Sale-a-bration catalogs that will go live in January 2022. Even though I miss our live get-togethers, we still manage to learn new things and create some fun projects.
One of these projects showcased a new stamp set in the upcoming catalog. Even though I chose not to purchase that particular stamp set, I was still able to use a similar set to create the above projects. I’m sure you’re all tired of Hand-Penned Petals and the coordinating DSP, but my motto is to use what I have before I buy more. So, I’ll do a quick explanation of how I created the above cards.

Let’s start with the stamp set Eden’s Garden which is available as an early release item from the Mini catalog coming in January 2022. I’ve attached a copy of the flyer with all of the details on the stamp set and coordinating dies and you can see some of the projects you can create with this stamp set.
Back to my cards at the top of the blog, starting with the card with the Pale Papaya cardstock, Hand-Penned flower dies and coordinating DSP. The fun part is where I used the die from the Eden’s Garden set and cut it to make my flower frame. I then stamped my sentiment and added a few more flowers from the Hand-Penned dies.
The “thinking of you” card is easy enough to recreate. To color in the flowers, I simply took a sponge dauber, dabbed it in my chosen ink pad, and pushed the color from the center of the flowers out. No need to cover it entirely but just enough to give it some character.
And, finally, the last card used a bit of stamping images on the Cinnamon Cider card base in Cinnamon Cider, adding some DSP and coloring in the flowers using Shimmery White cardstock and my watercolor pencils and a blending pen. I added a few more flowers and stems die cuts from Eden’s Garden, Hand-Penned and the retired Petal Palette stamp sets. Of course, all of the cards needed a little bit of bling added to them!
Take these designs, pull out your stamp sets and dies you think will work just as well, and have some fun creating your own cards. Keep stampin’ and scrappin’!
