I hope y’all had fun creating on World Card Making Day. I crafted along with other demonstrators watching the Stampin’ Up! virtual event. These were the two cards I made.
The first one was my take on their Cottage Rose card. I used Hand-Penned Petals as my alternative. I stamped leaves in Crumb Cake using a retired set called Summer Silhouettes. I then added a few lines on the leaves using Stampin’ Up! blends. Of course, I used the blends also on the flowers and then using the coordinating dies from the Hand-Penned Petals set, I added a few extra flowers tucked under the main flower image. I added a little bling and there you have it.
Now for my take on the Cottage Wreaths card, I used my retired Wondrous Wreath stamp set. I did do the watercolor brush technique as demonstrated, using it on the bow and the sentiment. You can’t see it very well on my photo, but I added some holly on the card base using another retired set called Holly Berry Happiness. Of course, I added some bling to the wreath and the bow.
I really didn’t have anything to match the Warm Welcome stamp set, so I just enjoyed the creativity of the demonstrator. If you would like to see the video of the virtual event, click here. Check out your stash and see if you can create something similar.
Keep stampin’ and scrappin’!
