I’m teaching a very basic stamping class up at our Craft Club and then another class where I will demonstrate whatever the gals would like to see. This is the one we did showing dry embossing and heat embossing. We used the Painted Textures embossing folder for the dry embossing using the Big Shot on Basic White cardstock. We then stamped the flowers from the Hand-Penned stamp set in Versamark and then heat embossed with black embossing powder. Don’t forget to use your Embossing Buddy before stamping to keep the embossing powder from sticking where you don’t want it. We did the same for the “Happy Birthday”.

Of course, the fun part is doing some coloring. We used Stampin’ Up! Blends on the front of the card. We also put a little bit of ink on the edges of our cut pieces using our brushes. For the inside of the card, we simply stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then took our brushes and applied ink from our coordinating stamp pads and brushed it over the flowers. Very simple but gives a great effect.

If you are like me and haven’t done heat embossing for a while, try it again. You’ll wonder why it got set on the back burner for so long! Keep stampin’ and scrappin’!
