Creativity Now Card 1-A

You previously saw my version of the Creativity Now Card 1, as I called it, on Monday’s blog. The photo above shows the original card and a stepped-up version using vellum. I’ll attach the .pdf with instructions from Stampin’ Up!’s version at the bottom of this blog.

Now to my version of the stepped-up card. I decided I hadn’t used my vellum in a while and this was a good chance to pull it out and do something a little different with it. I knew my previous card’s stamped image wouldn’t work as well with the stepped-up version. I went in search of another stamp set and came up with Grateful Bunch and its coordinating punch.

Once again, I stamped an image of the flower on the Poppy Parade card base in Poppy Parade. I stamped the two larger flower images on a 4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ white cardstock in Poppy Parade again, along with the leaves in Garden Green ink.

I admit I hadn’t tried the next die cutting idea. I placed two of the Stitched Rectangles on the white stamped cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot. I kept it altogether and placed it on my card base using dimensionals. Now is the fun part. I next stamped on vellum in Berry Burst ink the smaller flowers that matched up with the coordinating punch. When stamping on vellum, I made sure to run my heat gun over the images just to make sure they were nice and dry before I punched them out.

I added the vellum flowers to the card using mini glue dots, added the sentiment with dimensionals and a few other pieces of bling to finish off the card. I’ll have to remember that double frame idea again. I think it added a nice aspect to the card.

Keep stampin’ and scrappin’!
