In one of my earlier blog posts, I told you about a card swap I had participated in and showed you a version of my card using the one I received in the swap as a template. I’ve done the same thing here. The card in pink was created by Laurie Rigo and the other card is my take on her card.
Let’s take a little closer look at my card and how I tried to use her card as my template.

Firstly, I looked through my stamps to find something that was circular. I knew I had a Christmas wreath stamp, but I wasn’t ready to do a Christmas card today. Instead, I found this retired Paper Pumpkin stamp and decided to go with fall colors, since I didn’t think it looked too much like a Christmas wreath. I stamped the wreath in Mossy Meadow and then used a glitter brush I had in copper to color in the leaves. I found a sentiment I liked from the retired Thoughtful Banners stamp set and stamped it in Copper Clay. I punched the circle out using a 2-1/2″ circle punch.
Next, I took some copper foil and die cut a stitched circle a little larger than my punched stamped image. I added two die-cut leaves in place of the template’s ribbon.
The rest was simply a Copper Clay card base with layered Mossy Meadow and Basic White cardstock on it, after running them through the Layered Leaves and Square Lattice embossing folders, following the template. I added a few pieces of bling from my stash to finish it off.
Once again, try this yourself and see what you come up with. Keep stampin’ and scrappin’!
